     I am a representational impressionist

oil painter.  My primary genres are landscapes and cityscapes with a focus on design and composition.   The relationship between the natural and the man made is my overriding interest,

    Atmospheric effects,  weather conditions, the change of seasons,  the movement of clouds, busy streets -- these all  fascinate me.

    Maybe there isn't gold in the streets of New York, but there is in the reflection of light off brick and terra cotta  building facades in the late afternoon.

    It has been said  that  every cloud has a silver lining.  That land is  bathed in light.  That mountains  are the beginning and end of all natural scenery.   Landscapes  and skies are endless in variety and description.     My objective in landscape painting is to convey a sense of time, place and  motive.   Inspiration is limitless in New York City and New England.
